I like the pack, but turns out I hate riding with anything on my back. If you’re in the US, the REI Flash series is fairly lightweight and an excellent value. I have several “good” (even “great”) bags that are super lightweight. However, they will not weather abrasion, misuse and abuse as well as my “heavy duty” (thus “heavy”) bags from GoRuck, Mystery Ranch and Peak Design. If you value your back health and need to carry heavy gear, get something with a hip belt.
I agree this bag looks relly nice but this seems like a bag for no pros that work for real environment and sometimes stressful. I use my bag only on vaccaion nad private photo and thats ok for that. I only realised recently why mine is so uncomfortable.
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack has earned its place as one of the most popular dedicated camera bags currently available. And since then, Peak Design has only improved on the original. There's a reason the Everyday Backpack is probably the most common camera bag to spot in many major cities. The bag I tested is the 30-liter version, and there's also a smaller 20-liter one, and 30 liters is pretty damn voluminous.
Again, these are just nitpicking from an otherwise very capable backpack. The main compartment is guarded by Zoom zippers that are quite beefy and feature Hypalon pulls on O-rings. You can lock the O-rings together with a travel lock, or you can loop the Hypalon pulls together. It’s fairly easy to do since the Hypalon pulls are attached via snap fasteners. Our technique is to zip both zippers all the way down below the bag and to interlock the pulls to the bottom handle. It’s not quite as secure as a travel padlock, but it’s more secure than having them loose and visible like usual.
Not sure it will be good at distributing weight to hips/ legs. The zip pulls can be looped through the bag's attachment points to keep them closed. The ultra-wide handle at the top of the bag ended up being super useful for me.
